Job Wouters - Show is Over

Job Wouters is out of the closet and his work went back into the box. It was a joy to be surrounded with his work for these weeks. Sitting behind my computer with a healthy dose of stress, there was always something care free poking me in the back. Turning around and seeing Job Wouters' work in my living room cabinet made me sigh of relief. It made me remember not to take it all too serious, let trial and error be part of your work and put some love into everything you do. I admire Job for who he is, what he makes, how he makes it and why he makes it.

It's always a bit painful to take down the content of the cabinet.

Job Wouters - Finissage

Colors and type are making little dances for a couple more days in my showcase cabinet. The opening was a great success. We've had guests dropping by on appointment, which led to nice encounters. Blog-country and twitter have been very supportive. Creative Review made a nice post and online cultural magazine De Optimist wrote an article about the initiative.

For those who (almost) missed the show, here's a last call:
You're invited for Sunday's finissage of the Job Wouters exhibition in Schrank8 Home Gallery. Feel free to drop by between 15.00 - 18.00 hrs. You are welcome welcome welcome.
(And Schrank8 is open on appointment until Saturday April 24th.)

Job Wouters - Opening

What can I say? It was a blast!

We were overwhelmed with the amount of people that came to visit 'Schrank8 with Job Wouters / Letman'. House and sidewalk were filled with Job's friends, my friends, friends of friends, colleagues, students, clients and a whole bunch of people neither Job or me ever met before.

The steady Schrank8-bartender-crew Babette and Suzanne were indispensable serving us 168 beers, 18 bottles of wine, 6 liters of orange juice and 4.5 liters of mineral water in four hours. I'm also very grateful they ran up and down the supermarket a couple of times to make sure the guests didn't run dry. Thanks girls, for being my team!
I also want to give loads of thanks to Isabella who surprised our taste buds with making a large supply of Anchovies and Capers Butter, Broad Bean Purée with Mint, Goat Cheese Chocolate Truffles and Mango Salsa with Lime and Coriander
to accompany bread and nacho's.
